Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of a Forklift Operator for Kelvin Ghany Enterprises Limited, based in Trincity.

The Forklift Operator will be required to provide operational support in achieving the Company’s objectives as they relate to warehousing and delivery activities and to support excellence in Customer Service with specific reference to forklift and porter operations.

The Forklift Operator will be required to:

1. Operate the Forklift as required.
2. Load and off-load delivery vehicles and containers.
3. Pack products onto shelves and other assigned locations as instructed and as per Company approved procedures.
4. While on deliveries and while in-yard, aid other Drivers with issues relating to safe uploading and offloading of products and provide where needed directional assistance for turning/parking and securing loads and vehicles.
   
5. Ensure that products being stored/packed are placed in the designated area and /or in accordance with instructions from supervisor and procedures.
6. Ensure that products are labelled upon storage and where labels/ demarcations are not visible/available, bring to the attention of the Warehouse Coordinator and/or Operations Manager.
7. Pull and stage products earmarked for deliveries as directed via written instructions and in accordance with procedures, ensuring the correct items, quantities, sizes, brands and other specifications such as weight and color are pulled.
8. Ensure that all staged products are appropriately separated, labeled/ chalked/ marked.
9. Ensure that the inventory system of First-In First-Out (FIFO) is always practiced, unless otherwise specifically directed by supervisor.
10. Pay particular attention to dates of expiries on perishable products to ensure earlier expiries are pulled first.
11. Assist with ensuring that all premises: storage areas, staging areas and corridors are maintained in an orderly, clean and tidy manner. This may involve from time to time, providing housekeeping type assistance as it relates to sweeping, mopping, dusting and re-arranging of disorganized pallets.
12. Discard all garbage including empty boxes/cartons by placing them in the designated disposal bins.
13. Keep the common rooms/areas such as lunchrooms, washrooms, refrigerators and microwaves in a clean and orderly manner.
14. Assist other Forklift Operators in changing fuel tanks.
15. Assist designated supervisor with minor routine motor vehicle upkeep and maintenance such as interior and exterior cleaning, oil change, tyre air-pressure, battery checks and the likes as well as collaborates with the Motor Vehicle Fleet Supervisor and other Supervisors.
16. Provide specific assistance before, during and after special sales events.
17. Provide specific assistance with respect to retail sales activities.
18. Support/comply with Health and Safety protocols/requirements.
19. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Forklift certified.
2. Five (5) years’ certified forklift experience.
3. Working knowledge of basic arithmetic
