Human Resource Assistant: The Belgroves Group of Companies (San Fernando)





Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of a HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT for the Belgroves Group of Companies (San Fernando Branch).

The Human Resource Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the overall smooth operations of the Human Resource Department through administrative activities while maintaining the highest level of service to both internal and external stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality and conforming to the guidelines and standards set by the Company.


MAIN DUTIES

The duties of the Human Resource Assistant include but are not limited to:

  1. Assisting members of staff with Human Resource related activities including but not limited to preparing job letters, completing leave forms, preparing correspondence to staff members etc.
  2. Maintaining the systems of the Human Resource Department including Recruitment to Orientation process, Contract Management System, Resume Management System,
  3. Managing the company’s health plan by enrolling new staff members, facilitating claims etc.
  4. Preparing monthly Human Resource Reports according the standard reports required
  5. Providing direct administrative support and services to the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Officer, including receiving and screening incoming calls and visitors to the office and answering questions from job applicants
  6. Developing and maintaining proper filing systems in the Human Resource Department by keeping employee personnel files up-to-date and filing other HR documents
  7. Assisting in the coordination of special staff events, Quarterly Staff Meetings etc
  8. Maintaining the confidentiality of the Department by securing confidential documents and refraining from discussing employee information with others
  9. Executing the weekly/monthly Payroll in the absence of the Payroll Officer


REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management is a requirement.
  2. Five CXC/CSEC passes, two of which must be English Language and Mathematics.
  3. At least three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources oriented environment.
  4. Good Communication skills both written and oral
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised
  6. Good organizational skills
  7. An honest and highly confidential disposition is desirable and necessary
