Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of a MEMBER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE - OPERATIONS for the Community Care Credit Union.

This position will be based in Curepe.

The Member Services Representative – Operations will be mainly responsible for delinquency management activities.

He/she will report to the Operations Manager.

The incumbent will be engaged via a 1-year contract initially.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main responsibilities of the Member Services Representative – Operations include:

Delinquency

1. Providing support to delinquency management activities as guided by the Operations Manager.
2. Preparing and processing Loan Payoffs and Loan Liquidation Reports in a timely manner.
3. Pursuing the investigation of members’ loan queries by liaising with stakeholders, as required for the resolution of issues.
4. Informing members of the status of issues reported to ensure members’ confidence in Credit Union’s efficiency.
5. Typing and preparing letters – Non-Indebtedness / Settlement Letters.
6. Reviewing delinquent accounts in accordance with guidelines provided by the Operations Manager.
7. Determining probable reasons for account status and contacting members to resolve delinquencies.
8. Mailing notices and letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts after ensuring that Credit Union errors are detected promptly and corrected.
9. Assisting with collection efforts for various delinquent member accounts that are past due, at risk of becoming delinquent, delinquent, or charged off.
10. Monitoring bad debt cases managed by lawyers, collections companies, collectors, and auctioneers.
11. Meeting collection calls targets as set out by the Operations Manager.
12. Maintaining accurate files and reports on all collection’s activity.
13. Documenting all conversations and actions accurately in core banking system.
14. Assisting with Securities Administration.

Other Duties

1. Greeting and welcoming members to the Credit Union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, while providing prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions.
2. Working with all departments to ensure consistent delivery of quality service.
3. Performing a variety of miscellaneous tasks including filing, document scanning, and answering the telephone.
4. Assisting with daily department functions when necessary, as assigned by the Operations Manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Advanced Business Diploma, ABE, LCCI or other professional qualification from a recognized, accredited institution.
2. A Minimum of five (5) CSEC/CXC/’O’ level passes, including Mathematics, English Language and Principles of Accounts Customer service skills.
3. Knowledge of verification requirements for checks.
4. Ability to verify signatures and proper identification of customers.
5. Previous work experience as a Member Services Representative.
6. Proficient with computers and working with MS Office, especially Excel.
7. Understanding of accounting processes, procedure, and internal controls.
