Sales Officer





Office Gems is facilitating the recruitment of a SALES OFFICER for BELEC Power and Energy Solutions Limited. This company is based in Arima.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Officer will be required to:

  1. Provide legendary customer care through courteous, efficient, and attentive service in a timely manner.
  2. Effectively share product knowledge and provide direction, as necessary, to meet the needs of customers.
  3. Attend to customers by completing sales transactions. This includes assisting with product selection, taking orders, completing relevant paperwork and point of sale entries, operating a cash register and handing over materials upon payment.
  4. Handle returns from customers within the company’s policy measures.
  5. Answer department phones, e-mails and attend to customers’ needs efficiently. Performing basic administrative duties for the department.
  6. Ensure that competitive quotes are sourced prior to confirming purchases from suppliers maintain evidenced record keeping in this regard.
  7. Assist with preparing quotations for customers, invite quotations from suppliers and prepare analysis for purchasing and prepare relevant purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  8. Assist with receiving, sorting and packing merchandise and physically tagging/ pricing them.
  9. Ensure all incoming stock is accounted for and is put away in a timely manner to ensure easy access, safety and loss control.
  10. Close off point of sale machine, hand over cash and balance cash register to maintain ‘cash float’ on a daily basis.
  11. Assist with inventory control by reporting and communicating inventory concerns to Management such as stock shrinkages, outs and overages review the physical stock and data provided by the rest of the sales team to decide upon purchases in a timely manner (weekly) and ensuring stock does not run out.
  12. Assist with marketing initiatives and new business development.
  13. Assist the contracting department with dispatch and returns of materials.
  14. Ensure the relevant paperwork is submitted and database entries are carried out in accordance with company policies.
  15. Assist with proper record keeping (file maintenance) for all corporate store sales customers and contracting projects in accordance with Company procedures.
  16. Actively assist with updating and maintaining database (Peachtree system)
  17. .Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational & training workshops.
  18. Maintain a clean, neat and organized department area.
  19. Assist in maintaining department displays as needed.
  20. Training of new Sales Officers as the need arises.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  1. At least two (2) years’ experience in sales, customer service, procurement, tendering, or a similar capacity.
  2. Good knowledge of electrical materials and basic electrical and mechanical tools.
  3. Knowledge of Peachtree software package will be preferred.
  4. Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  5. Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  6. Ability to read and write English and have basic Math skills, including measurement, conversions and determining quantity needed.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (via phone, email and in-person).
  8. Strong writing skills, excellent reporting and presentation skills
  9. Experience using office equipment, including photocopiers, scanners, etc.
  10. Must be able to stand, walk, bend and lift light merchandise.
  11. Effective organizational and time management skills, with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.
  12. Organized work ethic able to work methodically, accurately and neatly.
  13. Meticulous nature always paying attention to detail.
  14. Ability to maintain high levels of professionalism and confidentiality with sensitive company information and that of external stakeholders.
  15. Must be respectful, self-motivated, friendly and well-groomed must have neat personal appearance.
  16. Must be dependable.
  17. Due to the nature and responsibilities of this position, dependable regular attendance is required.
  18. Must be a team player.
