Office Gems and Caribbean Careers are facilitating the recruitment of a LOGISTICS OFFICER for one of HR Portal’s Clients based in JAMAICA.
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for managing the supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring efficient delivery of geospatial products and services to clients while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Management:
• Oversee the entire logistics process, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation of geospatial products.
• Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with company goals and enhance operational efficiency.
Inventory Control:
• Maintain accurate inventory records to ensure optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and coordinate with the procurement team to replenish supplies as needed.
Transportation Coordination:
• Plan and coordinate transportation logistics for the timely delivery of products to customers and field operations.
• Negotiate contracts and rates with transportation providers to optimize shipping costs.
Vendor Management:
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure quality service and timely deliveries.
• Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate terms to achieve favorable contracts.
Data Management:
• Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments, monitor inventory levels, and generate reports on logistics operations.
• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to logistics and transportation.
• Implement safety protocols to minimize risks associated with logistics operations.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with the project management and operational teams to understand project requirements and ensure logistics support aligns with project timelines.
• Collaborate with the geospatial team to facilitate the movement of equipment and materials for field operations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role, preferably within the geospatial or technology sectors.
• Strong understanding of logistics software and inventory management systems.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with geospatial technologies and related logistics needs.
• Experience with project management principles is a plus.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
