Office Gems and Caribbean Careers are facilitating the recruitment of a Sales and Business Development Representative for one of our clients based in South Trinidad. In this role, you will help to develop and grow the company's customer base across the English-speaking Caribbean, working with both new and existing customers in the petroleum, cement and industrial sectors. You will combine sales and business development with customer engagement, progressively developing the product and technical knowledge required to confidently represent the company's solutions.
You do not need to come into the role as a technical expert. Training and sensitization will be provided in the company's products, services and relevant technical areas. What is important is your willingness and ability to learn, your confidence in engaging customers, and your drive to identify and develop business opportunities.
This is a field-focused position. Approximately 2.5–3 days per week will be spent engaging customers through meetings, site visits—including onshore and offshore locations—presentations and training sessions. Office-based days will focus on activities such as preparing proposals and quotations, following up on opportunities, managing customer relationships and progressing potential business.
Key Responsibilities
The Key Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Driving sales, marketing, and business development activities
• Conducting customer meetings, site visits, technical trainings, and presentations • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals, quotations, tenders, and trials
• Developing and presenting an annual Strategic Business Plan to senior leadership
• Acting as the technical interface between customers, suppliers, and manufacturers
• Building and growing the installed base of represented instruments and solutions
• Maintaining strong customer relationships through consistent follow-up and delivery
• Submitting weekly activity and opportunity reports to management
• Supporting internal training and continuous technical development
• Representing the company with professionalism, reliability, and integrity
Qualifications & Experience
• At least a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five (5) CSEC passes, including Mathematics and English.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Account Management, or a related commercial role is required.
• Willingness to learn about the company’s technical products and services.
• Training and sensitization in the relevant technical products, systems, and application areas will be provided to support the successful candidate in developing the technical knowledge required for the role.
• Experience selling to customers within the energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, cement or industrial sectors would be highly desirable.
• Valid Trinidad & Tobago Driver's Permit.

• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Highly developed planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• A self-motivated, proactive approach with the ability to work independently in a field-based sales role.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage a sales pipeline from prospecting through to closing.
• The ability to travel throughout Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
