Office Gems and Caribbean Careers are facilitating the recruitment of a TECHNICAL SALES & SERVICE SPECIALIST – CARIBBEAN OPERATIONS for IEM Sales and Services Limited. This is a Field-Based Role.
The Technical Sales & Service Specialist will be required to manage and grow the Company’s customer base across the English-speaking Caribbean. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine technical expertise, commercial responsibility, and regional exposure within demanding industrial environments.
The Technical Sales & Service Specialist will be responsible for all business development and customer support activities for new and existing customers within the petroleum, cement, and industrial sectors.
This is a field-focused role, with approximately 2.5–3 days per week spent visiting customers for meetings, site visits (onshore and offshore), technical presentations, and training sessions, and managing proposals, quotations, and follow-ups during office-based days.
Key Responsibilities
The Key Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Driving sales, marketing, and business development activities
• Conducting customer meetings, site visits, technical trainings, and presentations
• Preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals, quotations, tenders, and trials
• Developing and presenting an annual Strategic Business Plan to senior leadership
• Acting as the technical interface between customers, suppliers, and manufacturers
• Building and growing the installed base of represented instruments and solutions
• Maintaining strong customer relationships through consistent follow-up and delivery
• Submitting weekly activity and opportunity reports to management
• Supporting internal training and continuous technical development
• Representing the company with professionalism, reliability, and integrity

• A proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
• Strong business development skills with the ability to identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities.
• Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to build long-term partnerships with clients across multiple industries.
• Confidence in conducting customer meetings, presentations, product demonstrations, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand customer challenges and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Highly developed planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• A self-motivated, proactive approach with the ability to work independently in a field-based sales role.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage a sales pipeline from prospecting through to closing.
• The ability to travel throughout Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
Qualifications & Experience
• Degree, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Business, Engineering, Marketing or a related discipline.
• Experience in Technical Sales, Industrial Sales, Business Development or Account Management would be a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, automation, process control, mechanical, electrical or related technical products would be considered a strong asset, but is not essential.
• Experience selling to customers within the energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, cement or industrial sectors would be highly desirable.
• Minimum of five (5) CSEC passes including Mathematics and English.
• Valid Trinidad & Tobago Driver's Permit.
